Editing loop: First Light
Each section plays a two-bar pattern. Repeating a pattern uses the same notes everywhere. Make an independent copy to change one section.
Try three notes from left to right, then press Play.
Variation copies are independent. Your original loop stays intact.
Choose notes that sound good together. Your existing music keeps its pitches.

Add notes from left to right to make a melody. Stack notes to make a chord. Long notes keep sounding across their filled squares, including across the two bars.
Open Helpful note guides to choose a home note and a major, natural minor, or pentatonic note family to highlight matching pitches. R marks the root in both octaves; pink notes sit outside the selected scale. Chromatic includes all 12 pitches. Turn Highlight scale off for the plain piano roll. Keep new notes in this family optionally limits new notes and pitch moves. Existing notes keep their pitches and remain selectable, resizable, and removable. Turn the restriction off to use every pitch.
The piano labels use sharps (#); the pitch guide also shows flat equivalents. For example, A# and Bb name the same pitch. Key, scale, and highlighting save with the project and can be undone.
Choose a length for new notes, then click an empty square or drag to draw a held note. Click a note to select it; drag its right edge or use the length controls to resize. A note stops before the next note of the same pitch or the end of bar 2. Use Delete note to remove the selected note.
On a phone, tap to add or select, swipe the roll to scroll, and use the length controls or drag the resize handle. The bar arrows let you edit both bars. Editing turns following off during playback so the roll stays in place.
Focus a square and use arrow keys to move, Enter or Space to add/select. Shift+Left/Right shortens/lengthens the note by one step; Alt+arrows moves the selected note; Delete or Backspace removes it. Ctrl/Cmd+Z undoes; Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z redoes. Space outside a control starts or stops playback; Escape cancels a drag and stops playback.
Use Melody, Bass, and Drums to choose your editor. All three tracks play together. Add a beat in Drums, or toggle hits yourself. Copy bar 1 to 2 or back across all three tracks. Name, duplicate, and arrange up to eight patterns into a song of up to 16 slots. Make a Loop plays and downloads the current loop; Build a Song uses the song sequence. Empty patterns keep their full two-bar duration. Make a variation copy creates an independent pattern; edits to it do not change the original or song sections that repeat the original.
WAV exports recorded browser audio. Exact-length WAV loop wraps final releases into the beginning; turn it off for a clip with its natural release tail. MIDI keeps editable notes, bass, drums, tempo, and pattern markers.
Your latest music saves in this browser. Download project keeps an editable file to save another version or move it to another device. Download MIDI to open the notes in music software; MIDI contains notes and tempo, rather than recorded sound.
