Free Klondike Solitaire
Play classic single-player Solitaire with Draw 1 or Draw 3, random or verified winnable deals, shareable starting cards, and personal statistics. No account or installation is needed.
The rules at a glance
The goal is to move every card into one of the four suit foundations, from Ace through King. Work through the seven tableau columns to expose hidden cards. Build each face-up run downward in alternating red and black suits; a valid run moves together.
- Choose New game, select Draw 1 or Draw 3 and Random or Winnable, then choose Deal cards.
- Draw from the stock when you need another card. Only the top card in the waste can move. When the stock is empty, choose it to recycle the waste.
- Move Aces to their matching foundations and build upward in the same suit. An empty tableau column accepts a King or a run that starts with a King.
- Use Undo to revisit a move. More contains Redo, Pause, Share deal, Statistics, sound settings, and Help. Restart this deal restores its original cards.
Solitaire questions and answers
Is this Solitaire game free to play?
Yes. Klondike Solitaire is free to play in your browser, with no account or installation. A modern browser, JavaScript, and a network connection are required.
How do you play Klondike Solitaire?
Move all 52 cards to the four suit foundations, building each from Ace to King. In the seven tableau columns, build downward in alternating colors. You can move a valid face-up run together. Only a King or a run starting with a King can fill an empty column.
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
Draw 1 turns over one stock card at a time. Draw 3 turns over up to three cards, but only the top waste card is playable. Both modes allow unlimited stock passes. Recycling the waste costs 100 points, with scores staying at zero or above.
What does Guaranteed Winnable mean?
A Guaranteed Winnable deal is offered only after a complete legal winning route has been verified for its starting cards and draw mode. If a shuffled deal cannot be verified quickly, an easier varied deal is constructed and verified. Later choices can still leave you blocked; use Undo or Restart to try another route. Random deals have no solvability promise.
Can I share a Solitaire deal?
Yes. Open More, then Share deal to copy a link that recreates the original card order and draw mode. A verified deal link includes its winning-route proof, which is checked when opened. The link does not include your current progress or statistics. This is a shared puzzle, not an online multiplayer session.
Does Solitaire save my progress and statistics?
Your current board, sound setting, and separate Draw 1 and Draw 3 statistics stay in this browser when local storage is available. Reloading restores the deal, but Undo and Redo history starts fresh each visit. There is no account sync or online leaderboard. Clearing browser data can erase these records.
Can I play with touch or a keyboard?
Yes. Drag a card or a valid face-up run, or tap a card and then its destination. With a keyboard, Tab to a card or empty pile and press Enter or Space. Escape clears selection or cancels a drag. Double-click a top card to send it to its foundation.
Do Hint and Auto move solve the deal?
Hint shows a legal move, which is not a promise of a winning route. Auto move sends conservatively safe cards to foundations, or finishes an exposed board when the stock and waste are empty. Undo lets you explore a different choice.
How scoring works
Waste to tableau earns 5 points; moving any card to a foundation earns 10. Revealing a hidden tableau card earns 5. Moving a foundation card back to the tableau costs 15, recycling costs 100, and every ten active seconds costs 2. Scores stay at zero or above. A win after at least thirty active seconds earns a time bonus of 700,000 divided by active seconds, rounded down. Each draw, recycle, or card/run move counts as one move.
Draw 1 and Draw 3 keep separate attempts, wins, win rates, best winning scores, fastest wins, and fewest winning moves. An attempt begins with actual gameplay; opening an unplayed deal does not count. Restarting creates a new attempt, while reloading and undoing a win do not add another win to the same attempt.
