A free slingshot physics game
Mad Birds is an original single-player browser game by Zero Star Games. Fling a flock at raccoon forts, break their supports, and let gravity finish the job. Wood splinters, ice shatters, and heavy stone takes a stronger hit.
How to play Mad Birds
- Pull back and release. Drag backward in the left part of the field. Pull farther for more power, or set an exact shot with the Precision aiming sliders.
- Time a bird's ability. Tap the field, press Space, or choose Use ability during flight. Boost through wood, split into three against ice, or bring a blast to stone.
- Clear the fort. Chase out every raccoon before the flock runs out. Aim at supports, save spare birds for a bonus, and replay for a better score.
Fly through Timber Orchard, Frostwater Falls, and Moonstone Quarry with seven bird types: Ember, Dart, Trio, Boom, Pebble, Comet, and Gale. Clear Campaign levels in order to unlock the next adventure, or choose Practice to explore all 12 levels from the start.
Each level's flock fits its fort. Yellow Dart is supplied for wood, and blue Trio is supplied for ice, the game's glass-like material. Red Ember is an all-rounder for supports and nearby targets. Boom and Comet tackle heavy structures; Pebble and Gale offer alternate angles into sheltered targets.
Set off TNT chain reactions, use bounce pads to reach a different angle, and link destructions for combo bonuses. Each level has an optional mastery challenge and medal. Hints give you a nudge without spending a bird.
Sound effects are synthesized for Mad Birds. Settings let you turn sound, impact effects, and the action camera on or off. Your device's reduced-motion preference always disables camera movement and particles.
Mad Birds questions
How many levels and birds are there?
Mad Birds has 12 original levels across Timber Orchard, Frostwater Falls, and Moonstone Quarry. Its seven bird types are Ember (shock wave), Dart (speed boost), Trio (split into three), Boom (blast), Pebble (egg drop), Comet (heavy dive), and Gale (turn back).
How do Campaign and Practice work?
New campaigns start at the first level. Clear a Campaign level to unlock the next. Practice gives access to all 12 levels from the start and saves scores, stars, and mastery medals without advancing Campaign unlocks. Existing saves from the original version retain their records and access to every level.
Is Mad Birds free, and do I need an account?
Mad Birds is free to play in your browser. No account, installation, or payment is required. JavaScript is needed for gameplay.
Can I play with a mouse, touch, or keyboard?
Yes. Drag backward in the left part of the field and release with a mouse or finger. With the playfield focused, arrow keys adjust angle and power, Space launches or activates an ability, R retries, and P pauses. Escape cancels an active pull or otherwise pauses. Precision aiming sliders also work with touch and keyboard.
Does Mad Birds save my progress?
Best scores, stars, mastery medals, Campaign progress, the last selected level, and sound, effects, and camera preferences save in this browser when local storage is available. Saves do not sync across devices and do not resume a bird in mid-flight. Clearing browser storage removes saved progress.
How do I earn three stars?
Clear every raccoon to earn one star. Reach 70% of the level's three-star score for two stars, or reach the full score for three. Consecutive destructions add combo bonuses, and spare birds add a bonus. Each level also has an optional mastery challenge for a separate medal; medals are not required to unlock Campaign levels. The results screen shows the score breakdown and three-star goal.
Is Mad Birds an official Angry Birds game?
No. Mad Birds is an original game by Zero Star Games, inspired by classic slingshot puzzles. It has its own bird designs, raccoon targets, artwork, and levels, and is not affiliated with Rovio or Angry Birds.
