A SMALL CREATIVE ESCAPE
Sand Art.
A little patience.
A lot of color.
Build from the bottom up. Every color stays in its layer.
MAKE SOMETHING SLOWLY
A picture, one layer at a time.
Sand Art is a free colored sand drawing game by Zero Star Games. Pour grains into a glass frame and build dunes, mountains, sunsets, rainbow bands, or your own abstract picture. There is no score or time limit, and no account is required.
How the sand stacks
Choose a color, then hold and drag in the frame. Your position moves the spout along the top; sand falls down to the surface below. All colors use the same sand physics. Grains settle against other grains, slide into empty spaces, and form slopes without passing through another color.
Build from the bottom up
Start with the foreground at the bottom of your picture. Pour longer in one spot for a peak, or move across the frame for a broad layer. The surface you build shapes the next color. Try a narrow stream and slow speed for small details, and Undo to try a pour again.
A few useful answers
Is Sand Art free, and do I need an account?
Sand Art is free to play in your browser. No account or installation is required.
Does the sand mix or fall through other colors?
Every color follows the same rules. Grains fall into empty space and settle on other grains. Colors do not swap places or sink through each other, so your layers stay in place.
Is my sand art saved?
Your latest settled picture is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Reloading restores that draft on the same browser and device. Clearing browser data removes it; drafts do not sync between devices. Undo history lasts only for the current visit.
How do I download my artwork?
Choose Save your artwork to download a 960 by 900 pixel PNG with a frame. The image keeps your picture, but it is not an editable draft. On a phone, the browser may open the image for you to save or share.
Can I use a phone or a keyboard?
On a phone, choose a color, then hold and drag inside the frame to pour. With a keyboard, focus the frame, move the spout with the left and right arrows, and hold Space or Enter to pour. Escape stops pouring. Use Tab to reach the other controls.
